Inspekt is a Chrome extension that inspects CSS properties of web pages to help with Figma redesign workflows. This policy explains what data Inspekt does and does not collect.

Data we do not collect

Inspekt does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personally identifiable information, browsing history, web content, or user activity. Inspekt does not track you across websites and has no analytics or telemetry.

How Inspekt works

• Page inspection: When you activate Inspekt on a tab, it reads CSS properties of elements on that page (colors, spacing, typography, etc.) so you can copy them as design specs. This happens locally in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
• Clipboard: When you copy a design spec, Inspekt writes it to your system clipboard. Nothing is read from your clipboard.
• Screenshot capture: Inspekt can capture a screenshot of the currently visible tab to support the inspection panel. This image stays local to your browser session.
• Local storage: Inspekt uses Chrome's storage API to save your extension settings and license key on your own device (and synced via your Google account if Chrome Sync is enabled). This data is not accessible to us.

License validation

If you activate a paid license, Inspekt sends your license key to our payment processor, Polar (api.polar.sh), solely to verify that the key is valid. No other browsing or personal data is included in this request. See Polar's privacy policy for how they handle this data.

Permissions

Inspekt requests the minimum browser permissions needed to function: reading the active tab's content when you invoke it, injecting the inspection panel, and storing your settings locally. Inspekt does not have standing access to your browsing activity on other sites.
